Secure electricity meter

How to identify: The meter’s serial number begins with two digits then P.

The meter has a keypad with buttons A and B and number 0-9.

  • If you run low on credit, an alarm will appear on your IHD to let you know and the LED will flash red
  • The screen will display two selections, ‘E - credit’ and ‘Ignore’. In order to accept emergency credit, you will need to press ‘E- credit’
  • If you press ‘Ignore’, the alarm will stop, leaving enough time for you to put money on your meter. However, if you don’t top up, you’ll be alerted again, giving you another option to select emergency credit. If you keep pressing ‘Ignore’ without making a payment, your supply will eventually disconnect

How to identify: The meter’s serial number begins with G4P. 

The meter has a keypad with buttons A and B and number 0-9.

It has two buttons labelled A and B.

  • Clear the ‘Credit is low’ message by pressing button (A)
  • Press button (B) on the ‘Emergency credit available’ prompt to accept the emergency credit
  • The emergency credit status will then change to ‘Invoked’

Flonidan gas meter

How to identify: The meter’s serial number begins with G4F.

It has three buttons, labelled A, B and C.

  • Press button (C) to enter the menu
  • Use button (B) to scroll down to the Prepayment menu and press button (C) to enter
  • Use button (B) to scroll down to emergency credit and press button (C) to enter this screen
  • The emergency credit status will display Available. Press button (C) to select the emergency credit and the status will change to In Use

Honeywell electricity meter 

How to identify: The meter’s serial number begins with two digits, either K or L.

It has two buttons (upper and lower buttons).

  • You can activate your emergency credit if the balance on the meter goes below £2
  • The meter will show the balance with less than £1 and ‘EC’ will be displayed in the top right hand corner
  • Press the upper button to enter the main menu
  • Press the lower button to scroll through the menu options
  • Once you reach the option ‘Prepayment’ press the upper button to select it
  • Then use the lower button to go through the prepayment options
  • Once you reach ‘Financial’ press the upper button to select
  • Your current meter balance will then be shown
  • Press the lower button to take you to the emergency credit option where you will see ‘EC: Available’
  • Press the upper button to display the screen to accept the emergency credit
  • The lower button allows you to switch between ‘Yes’ and ‘No’
  • Press the upper button to select
  • It will then show ‘EC Status In Use
  • If the supply was off before the emergency credit had been activated you must first re-enable your supply on your electricity meter

Honeywell gas meter 

How to identify: The meter’s serial number begins with G4K.

It has three buttons (left arrow, middle button and right arrow).

  • Wake up the gas meter by pressing the middle button. If emergency credit is available the screen will say ‘Emerg credit avail’
  • Press the middle button to activate emergency credit
  • The screen should say ‘Emerg credit accepted’, your emergency credit has been successfully activated

Landis + Gyr electricity meter

How to identify: The meter’s serial number begins with two digits, then an L or Z.

It has two buttons labelled A and B.

  • When emergency credit is available, it’ll be displayed on the screen 
  • To accept the emergency credit, press button (B) to enter the acceptance screen
  • Press button (B) again to accept the emergency credit

Landis + Gyr gas meter

How to identify: The meter’s serial number begins with E6S. 

It has two buttons labelled A and B.

  • When the emergency credit is available, it’ll be displayed on the screen
  • To accept the emergency credit, press button (A) to reach the Meter Index 
  • Then press button (A) again to access the Emergency Acceptance screen
  • Press button (A) again to access the Confirmation screen
  • Press button (B) to confirm. Your emergency credit is now accepted

EDMI electricity meter

How to identify: The meter’s serial number begins with two digits then E.

It has two buttons. Holding down the right button for 1 second acts as an ‘OK’ function.

  • When emergency credit is available, the emergency credit status symbol will be lit (this is an E in a circle)
  • Press and hold the return button to accept the emergency credit

EDMI gas meter

How to identify: The meter’s serial number begins with E6E.

It has two buttons. Holding down the right button for 1 second acts as an ‘OK’ function.

  • When emergency credit is available, the emergency credit status will be displayed on the screen
  • You can accept the emergency credit when the credit balance is below £2.00
  • To activate the emergency credit, press and hold the left button
