We’re bringing the Smart Flex scheme to an end on 14 February to focus on moving our customers over to Octopus’s systems. Once you’re an Octopus customer, they’ll let you know how to join Saving Sessions, their own demand flexibility scheme.
How do I sign up to Smart Flex?
We’ll send invitations to customers who are eligible to take part and have opted in to receive marketing communications from us. If you receive an email from us inviting you to register, you can follow the quick and simple instructions to join.
First, you’ll be asked to confirm your email address - the one associated with your Shell Energy account. You’ll then be asked for the last four characters of your smart meter’s in-home display, which you can find in the invitation email.
Where can I find my in-home display’s GUID number?
If you still need to find your in-home display’s GUID number, it’s on the back or the underside of the unit itself, usually under the barcode (see pictured).
Can I forward my invitation to friends and family?
No, the scheme will only be open to eligible Shell Energy customers who’ve been invited to take part.
I’m having trouble signing up, what do I do?
If you don’t have access to the email with the code or your in-home display, we can give you the code directly. For this and any other help with Smart Flex, call us on 0330 175 9940. Lines are open from 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
I want to opt out of Smart Flex
You can leave the Smart Flex scheme at any time. Just go to the email confirming your registration (or any Smart Flex email after that) and click on the link that says ‘Opt out of Smart Flex.’ If you have difficulty finding an email to do this, check your Spam or Junk folder first.
