Your smart meter tells us exactly how much energy you’re using. That means your bills are always accurate, and you’re always paying the right amount.
This also means your bills can change, because:
- Your previous bills were based on estimated readings, so won’t have been based on your actual energy usage.
- You may have changed from a multi-rate meter to a single rate meter. This means your tariff will have changed as well.
- If you have solar panels or other micro-generation, your previous electricity meter may have caused your readings to be reversed.
- This happens when your meter isn’t compatible with your solar panel equipment. Now that a smart meter has been installed, your readings have been corrected.
