Reading your meter is really important because it affects how much you pay. Below are examples of different meter types, and instructions on how to read them correctly.

How to read a digital or numeric meter

A digital, or an older mechanic meter are read in exactly the same way - you take down the numbers from left to right. And make sure you include any zeros at the beginning, or you’ll be billed too much.

For a digital meter, you may need to press the button on the front to get your reading. When you have your numbers, submit them to us online through My Account. If you're not able to do this online, we can submit your reading for you, just get in touch.
