This article provides the steps to follow to check your balance on the following smart prepayment smart meters:

Secure electricity meter

How to identify: The meter serial number begins with two digits then P.

The meter has a keypad with buttons A and B and number 0 - 9.

  • If you have previously pressed any other buttons, first wait 10 seconds.
  • Press button ‘B
  • Your meter balance should now be displayed

Secure gas meter 

How to identify: The meter serial number begins with G4P.

The meter has a keypad with buttons A and B and number 0 - 9.

  • If you have previously pressed any other buttons, first wait 10 seconds.
  • Press button ‘B
  • Your meter balance should now be displayed

Aclara electricity meter

How to identify: The meter serial number begins with two digits then M.

It has two buttons labelled A and B.

  • If you have previously pressed any other buttons, first wait 10 seconds
  • Press button ‘B
  • Use button ‘B’ to scroll through the options until you find ‘Meter Balance’
  • Press button ‘A’ to select this option
  • Your meter balance should now be displayed

Flonidan gas meter 

How to identify: The meter serial number begins with G4F.

It has three buttons labelled A, B and C.

  • Press the button ‘C’ to enter the menu
  • Press button ‘B’ to scroll down to ‘Meter Balance’
  • Press button ‘C’ to select
  • Your meter balance should now be displayed

Honeywell electricity meter

How to identify: The meter serial number begins with two digits the K or L.

It has two buttons (upper and lower button).

  • If you have previously pressed any other buttons, first wait 10 seconds
  • Press the upper button to illuminate the display screen
    • If the meter is in credit the balance will be shown as a positive value
    • If the meter is in Emergency Credit the balance will show as a negative value and *EC* will be displayed

Honeywell gas meter 

How to identify: The meter serial number begins with G4K.

It has three buttons (left arrow, left, middle button and arrow to the right).

  • Press the middle button. This should wake up the screen
  • Now press the middle button again
  • Your meter balance should now be displayed

Landis + Gyr electricity meter

How to identify: The meter serial number begins with two digits then an L or Z.

It has two buttons labelled A and B.

  • Press button ‘A’ to wake up the screen
  • Press and hold button ‘A’ to enter the credit screen
  • Your meter balance should now be displayed

Landis + Gyr gas meter 

How to identify: The meter serial number begins with E6S.

It has two buttons labelled A and B.

  • Press button ‘A’ to wake up the screen
  • Your meter balance should now be displayed

EDMI electricity meter

How to identify: The meter serial number begins with two digits then E.

It has two buttons. Holding down the right button for 1 second acts as an ‘OK’ function.

  • Press and hold the ‘OK’  button
  • Your meter balance should now be displayed

EDMI gas meter 

How to identify: The meter serial number begins with E6E.

It has two buttons.  Holding down the right button for 1 second acts as an ‘OK’ function.

  • Press the ‘OK’ button to enter the main menu
  • Your meter balance should now be displayed
