I want to exchange my meter

You can request your meter exchange by calling us on 0330 094 5800, or emailing us at customer.service@shellenergy.co.uk. Once we’ve received your request, our Metering team will be in touch with you within a few weeks. We’ll arrange an appointment with you, and depending on the availability of the engineers in your area for how quickly we can get this booked. If you haven’t joined us yet, but you want to exchange your meter, you can request this when you have switched to us.

I want to move my meter

If you’d like us to move your meter less than one metre, along the same wall, just get in touch and we can arrange this for you. If you’d like to move your meter any further than this, your local distributor may need to move their equipment before we can move your meter - get in touch with your local electricity distributor or your local gas distributor. When you’ve booked your appointment, call us on 0330 094 5800 and we'll arrange to reconnect your meter free of charge.

Please note: there will be a cost for distributor’s and engineer’s time and the amount will be confirmed to you when you arrange the appointment with your distributor.

I want to exchange my prepayment meter to a standard meter

Moving from prepayment to credit meters and payment methods is dependent on your circumstances. Please call us on 0330 094 5802 to discuss the options available to you and find the best solution for your energy needs.
