At Shell Energy we like to be flexible - we’ve made sure that you can manage your account in a way that suits you best.
If you’re on a fixed Direct Debit and would like to change to a variable Direct Debit so you pay the full amount you owe each month, you can make the change easily using your online account. Follow these steps:
- Log into your account.
- Select the ‘bills and payments' menu and go to ‘my payment method’.
- Follow the instructions in the top section - you’ll get a confirmation that your request has been accepted.
- You can also make other changes to your Direct Debit in this section including changing the date we take payment and updating your bank details.
Remember, if you change from a fixed to a variable Direct Debit you can’t change back again through your online account, you will need to contact us.
How long will it take for my changes to take effect?
Your request will take 5 working days to process, however, if your payment is due in the next 10 working days this payment will be taken by fixed Direct Debit. Once this payment is received you will then be moved to variable Direct Debit where your bill notification will advise of your payment date and amount each month.
