If there’s serious damage to your meter, such as a broken bracket or a crack right through the meter, please call us on 0330 094 5800.

I’m having problems taking a meter reading 

If you’re struggling to take a reading, there are a few things you can try before getting in touch with us:

  • If you’ve got a smart or digital meter and the screen’s gone blank, try pressing a button to wake up the display.
  • If this doesn’t work, or you’re not sure how to take a reading, we can show you how to do it. How do I read my meter?

My meter is stuck, going backwards, or my screen is broken 

If your meter isn’t working, we’ll need to replace it for you. 

Contact us to request a new meter.

We’ll need to estimate your readings in the meantime. 

My meter is making a noise 

If your meter is working but making a noise, please check the noise is definitely coming from the meter. If it is, contact us. We’ll look into it and get it replaced if necessary.
