Depending on how far you wish to move your meter, we can help arrange this for you. 

If you’d like to move your meter, within a metre of its current position and along the same side of the internal wall, we can in the majority of cases arrange and complete this for you.

If you wish to move your meter any further than detailed above, to the other side of a wall or it’s located on an external wall or is obstructed, for example by a cupboard, you’ll need to arrange this with your local distributor. They’ll move all necessary pipework within your home. If you're not sure who your distributor is, you can check online here.

Once you’ve made the appointment with your distributor, please contact us as soon as possible, as we will still need to attend the appointment to reposition your meter to the new location, please contact us here. 

You’ll also need to have a Gas Safe engineer or Electrician at the appointment, as they’ll be the one to complete the works making sure your supply is reconnected. 

Please note: there is a cost for distributors, gas engineer’s and/ or the electricians time and the amount will be confirmed to you when you arrange the appointment with them. 

If Shell Energy are able to move your meter, this is done free of charge.
