Carbon offsetting is a way that companies and individuals can compensate for their CO2 emissions. They do this by buying carbon credits in nature-based projects around the world, then retiring them (taking them off the market so they can’t then be resold). These nature-based projects protect and restore natural ecosystems, reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Here at Shell Energy, we’re helping support a low-carbon future. We work hard to offset our carbon-dioxide emissions, as well as providing 100% renewable electricity as standard.
